Medical Weight Loss
The Obesity Epidemic
We see the epidemic in stores, restaurants, schools and offices every day. Since 1980, obesity rates have doubled in adults and tripled in children. 68% of Americans are overweight.
- Heart disease
- Chronic illness
The costs of obesity are staggering with approximately 300,000 deaths and more than $140 billion in healthcare spending per year in the United States.
The American Medical Association (AMA), the largest physician organization in the nation, has decided that obesity is undoubtedly a disease. This recognition will help change the way the patients are treated and Danville Holistic Medical Center is on the front line, ready to help our patients tackle this challenging and complex health issue.
Our approach is not based solely on symptomatic diagnosis. Even if an obese person does not currently display any health problems, a proactive approach is important to prevent future complications, suffering and costs.
A variety of factors contribute to the onset of obesity:
- Genetic factors
- Hormonal factors
- Environmental factors
For many individuals, eating a more healthful diet and participating in regular exercise might not be enough. The Danville Holistic Medical Center weight loss program is tailored specifically to the needs of each individual patient, as opposed to a “one size fits all” program. We go above and beyond to ensure that each of our patients has everything THEY need to meet their weight loss goals.
Danville Holistic Medical Center is currently accepting new patients into our medically supervised weight loss program. If you are interested in a consultation to see if our medical weight loss program is right for you, please contact us.
